The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is set to meet two networks to finalize its broadcast deal for the upcoming season.
PVL president Ricky Palou said they are trying to schedule a meeting with GMA Network and TV5 to finally determine who will be their broadcast partner following the closure of ABS-CBN last year.
“We are trying to set a meeting with the management of both GMA and TV5. Hopefully, we can sit down with both of them next week,” Palou said.
“We are expecting to open the season in April and we’re hoping to find a television partner before that.”
Palou said they want their next broadcast partner to provide them with live coverage and fixed game schedule.
He said they want to improve the league’s audience reach and live coverage to be able to reach their target market.
“That’s the details we are waiting for from the networks,” Palou said.
“We want PVL to be a regular coverage of whoever will be our next partner.”
Palou said he doesn’t see any problem being with the same network as the Philippine Superliga, their rival league that is being covered by TV5.
“Well, I don’t know about that and it’s a matter to be discussed within the officials of the network,” he said.
“What I’m after is the broadcasting of PVL and that alone.”
