Camiguin says no curfew on Christmas Day

Camiguin, one of the popular tourist destinations in the country, has lifted its curfew on Christmas Day to allow residents to fully celebrate the yuletide.

This was contained in an Executive Order issued last week by Governor Jurdin Jesus Romualdo.

Rumualdo, however, said that despite the lifting of the province-wide curfew the residents are advised to strictly observe health protocols such as wearing of mask, face shield, constant hand washing or sanitizing and social distancing.

Aside from Christmas Day, curfew hours will remain from 12 midnight to 5 a.m.

The provincial government has also given the go signal for residents aged 15 to 65 to go out from their homes in accordance with the guidelines issued by the National COVID 19 task forces.

Returning residents will also be allowed to return to their homes from 15 December to 7 January without undergoing the mandatory 14 days quarantine provided that they present swab test results that they are negative for the coronavirus at least 24 hours before their arrival in the province.

As of Friday there were only 50 corona virus cases — 14 local transmission, 36 locally stranded individual were reported in the province.

The island province is famous of its hot springs and diving sites is accessible through ferry boats from Misamis Oriental . The the entry of LSI and ROF in province was tightened to contain in the spread of the disease.

Camiguin is also famous for its lanzones festival which was launched on line last Sunday in compliance of the COVID-19 health protocols in the country.
