IS-inspired group attacks Datu Piang in Maguindanao

Local residents of Datu Piang and netizens took to social media what seemed to be a gun attack late Thursday night.
Twitter and Facebook posts read that Islamic State-inspired group Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters reportedly attacked barangay Dulawan in Datu Piang, Maguindanao.
There were gunshots heard while a police patrol car was set on fire.
Lt. General Sobejana confirmed with The Tribune the incident.
He also confirmed that it was perpetuated by the BIFF and that government forces are now in control. – Kristina Maralit, John Roson, Yummie Dingding
