Young woman jumps to death inside mall

A 23-year-old woman died after jumping off a mall in Mandaluyong City on Saturday morning.

Mandaluyong police officer-in-charge Col. Milo Pagtalunan said the woman, a 23-year-old resident of Sta. Maria, Bulacan, jumped from the fourth floor of SM Megamal Building B at around 11:45 a.m.

Police said the victim was seen climbing the railing by Muebles Italia store employees and they tried to save the victim but it was too late.

A friend of the victim appeared also at the SM security office.

It was learned that the fatality was suffering from depression, was previously confined at the National Center for Mental Health and was under medication before her fatal fall.

The victim was brought to the Victor R. Potenciano Medical Center in Mandaluyong City but was declared dead on arrival.
