Boxing champion and senator Manny Pacquiao has been named as the newest ambassador of the popular game “Mobile Legends.”
The game will also introduce a new character inspired by Pacquiao named “Paquito.”
Right on the heels of celebrating a milestone of having one billion downloads worldwide, Mobile Legends showed on YouTube gameplay of Paquito, who is depicted in boxer shorts and red gloves.
The eight-division world champion said he feels honored to be named a Mobile Legends ambassador and to have a hero made after him.
“It is an amazing experience I have seen how much the esports community in the Philippines has and how much the gaming community has embraced Mobile Legends Bang Bang skills,” Pacquiao said.
Pacquiao’s camp said the endorsement fee coming from his deal with “Mobile Legends” will be used to fund the senator’s relief operations for victims of Typhoon Ulysses.
Developed by Moontoon, Mobile Legends was first released in 2016 and gained over 100 million registered users and 25 million monthly active users worldwide.
