Seven people were saved, while another one went missing after a yacht battered by strong waves sank in Bauan, Batangas. A Super Shuttle Roro 5, meanwhile, ran aground in Bonito Island in Lobo, all because of Typhoon “Quinta.”

An initial report from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said the yacht, MV Oceanic Explorer 3, encountered rough sea condition half a nautical mile off Keppel Shipyard in Barangay San Roque, at around 7 a.m. today, 26 October 2020.

The PCG rescued seven of the eight crew members and is continuing efforts to find the missing crew member.

Super Shuttle 5’s MV RoRo-12 ran aground, also due to the strong winds. Personnel of the Coast Guard Sub-Station in Tingloy are now on their way to assist five crew members of the said vessel who are taking shelter at Bonito Island while waiting for a towing vessel to provide assistance.
