CLARK — The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) cancelled the match between Blackwater and Rain or Shine on Sunday after the league confirmed the first probable COVID-19 case of a player.

Commissioner Willie Marcial announced the postponement of the 4:00 p.m. encounter between the Elite and Elasto Painters following the confirmation that a Blackwater player tested positive for the virus.

The whole Elite team is now under isolation as well as those who have close contact with the squad.

Last week, a game official was removed from the bubble for suspected COVID-19 infection.

The Manila Clasico matchup between Barangay Ginebra and Magnolia will still push through as scheduled at 6:45 p.m.

“Cancelled ang first game. Pero tuloy ang Manila Clasico,” said Marcial.

TNT Tropang Giga, who were identified as the most recent team faced by Blackwater last Thursday, are now under isolation and bound to undergo testing within the day.
