Pinayuhan ni Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana ngayong Biyernes si Southern Luzon Command chief Lt. Gen.
“My thoughts on that, if you have no evidence, do not talk about it. Do not talk about it with the media, do not post it on Facebook,” sabi ni Lorenzana sa isang panayam matapos dumalo sa pagpapasinaya ng Philippine Army–Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association, Inc. Building sa PA headquarters sa Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
“Do not just accuse someone of sympathizing with the left, of being a member of the New People’s Army. We should have evidence. Otherwise, just keep quiet. ELCAC is a very good idea, but you cannot accuse everybody,” dagdag ni Lorenzana.
New People’s Army (NPA).
“I am convening a meeting with these people – Gen. Parlade, (National Security Adviser) Gen. (Hermogenes) Esperon, and the other members of the ELCAC. Because of this brouhaha, the issue is getting bigger. I think we should talk about what we should do next,” dagdag ni Lorenzana.
Ipinagtanggol naman ni Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Gen.
“Gen. Parlade’s statement was just a reminder to all because anybody could be victims. This is true because we have encountered them on many occasions. Sadly, many ended up dead. These are students which were affiliated with the front organizations of the CPP-NPA like Gabriela,” sabi ni Gapay.
“There is nothing wrong in voicing out your sentiments or advancing personal advocacies. But once you bear arms and you join the armed component of the CPP-NPA and you fight the government, that’s a different story. We really prohibit the use of violence in advancing changes in the society,” ayon pa kay Gapay.
