CLARK — Barangay Ginebra created a three-way tie for the top spot in the team standings after stunning Meralco, 105-91, Sunday here at the Angeles University Foundation (AUF) powered by Smart 5G.

Japeth Aguilar led the Gin Kings scoring 20 points and grabbing four rebounds, while Stanley Pringle had 16 points, seven rebounds and three assists as their team tied Tropang Giga and Rain Or Shine’s  3-0 win-loss records.

The Kings broke away from a 20-20 deadlock in the opening frame in the second quarter as they outscored the Bolts, 31-19.

The Tim Cone-led squad raised its lead to 23 points, 97-74, after Aguilar completed an and-one dunk with 4:29 left in the final quarter.

Veteran guard Mark Caguioa also achieved another feat as the only PBA player to ever play for 18 seasons under a single franchise.

Meralco’s sniper Allein Maliksi came up with 16 points, but failed to keep up with Ginebra’s pace as the Bolts suffered their second loss in three games.
