The call of the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa (BP2) Council requesting an Executive department directive to members of the Cabinet Officers for Regional Development and Security (CORDS) to organize and form Regional Development Councils (RDC) which are special BP2 committees got the full backing of Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go.

“Creating special BP2 committees in each RDC will ensure the success of the BP2 Program in every region when it is fully implemented as it will promote close coordination among the different levels of governance from national agencies to local government units,” he explained.

Go mentioned that pursuant to Executive Order 114 and its implementing guidelines, the BP2 Council has already approved the designation of the RDC as the counterpart of the BP2 Council in the regions.

“The creation of RDC special BP2 committees which can be chaired by the designated Cabinet member under the CORDS system will help operationalize our plans towards promoting development in the countryside,” Go said.

Implement CORDS
Last July 2019, Cabinet members comprising the CORDS system were directed to ensure that all programs and projects of the national government are well implemented and that development efforts are harmonized in their respective regional assignments.
