It is difficult enough for the elderly to be quarantined at home amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s even more trying for the family of someone who has been ailing while the world is consumed by fear and anxiety over a health crisis.
Lucia “Letty” Gonzales Tan died 31 August 2020 of a lingering illness. She was 77.
Her family knew her as a jolly and doting mother and grandmother. In social circles, she was warm, friendly and affable.
In a statement, the Tan family requested relatives and friends to offer prayers for the repose of her soul: “Our Mom will always be remembered for her kindness and big heart. May the Lord bless her soul as she joins Him in heaven.”
She is survived by Tan, children Michael and Angeline, Sharon and Edgard, John and Nancy, Cherry and Alfred, Timmy and Christine, and grandchildren.
Her remains lie at Chapel 3, Heritage Memorial Park, Taguig City, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., 2 to 7 September 2020. Interment is at 11 a.m. on 8 September, also at Chapel 3.
