The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted education for over 290.5 million students globally as reported by the United Nations. Learning is not the same for everyone, Kelly Te envisioned a future where everyone has easy access and equal opportunities to learn.

“The idea was to create a product where I could provide the needs of children with limited access to proper schools and to create a vibrant learning ecosystem for future generation and integrate technology as solutions for smarter learning and knowledge exchange,” Te, CEO of mysavvytutor.com/(MST), a Singapore-based online learning platform that she co-founded with Marc Vinson (treasurer) and Yiwei Lin (director of Operations).

With over 30 years of combined experience in various industries including education, Te and her team believe that the global pandemic is the beginning of a shift to virtual learning. They recently launched a new feature-rich, on-demand, web-based application which provides a myriad teaching tools such as interactive whiteboard, video conferencing and webinar features accessible and affordable for everyone.

“Due to a lack of flexible and transparent options, most people are skeptical about online education. To ensure peace of mind for learners and quality during these times and beyond, we launched MST,” Te said.

MST has collaborated and formed strategic alliances with 20 local institutions and schools in the United States, Indonesia and the Philippines since its launch.

It recently partnered with iWave Inc. (formerly known as Intelligent Wave Phils. Inc.), a company engaged in software and technology development providing financial technology solutions and services to clients in the Philippines and other countries.

“In the second half of 2020, we look to welcome more partners, develop our suite of intuitive tools and games, expand our social and virtual learning and teaching environment to create a peer-shared co-learning space for learners and educators together,” Te added.

Education becomes easier with online learning platforms.

Learners and educators can sign up for free using an email address and simply fill up the form. All Filipino subscribers will receive a special gift. Students will only pay for sessions that they are attending through a secured payment gateway. From sign-in, students can enroll in private enterprise courses and participate in group webinars in a collaborative learning space. The service also comes with round-the-clock support and report updates in real-time, allowing students to save time and focus their efforts. Students can browse subject levels and courses that meet their educational needs and schedule classes immediately (Learn Now) or at a time which suits their pace (Learn Later).

Students will find digital platforms their ally in these trying times.

Educators will only pay for the usage of the virtual classroom. MST will charge them with a fixed 10 percent fee for a session conducted in the classroom. They can make use of virtual classrooms and performance analytics tools, such as the online whiteboard, to complement and enhance offline programs.

Together with technology partners, MST challenges the norms and drives the changes to impact society through online learning innovation.
