Caloocan City Mayor Oscar ‘Oca’ Malapitan has placed another barangay in this city under total lockdown following continued rise in the number of coronavirus cases in the area.
Malapitan, through his Facebook account, announced that he is placing Barangay 132 in a week-long total lockdown.
“During our emergency meeting, we have decided to put Brgy. 132 under lockdown due to the alarming increase of COVID-19 cases reported within the last few days,” the mayor said.
Total lockdown will be imposed beginning 12:01 a.m. of 2 August until 11:59 p.m. of 8 August.
“Latest data from our City Health Department showed that 36 positive cases have been recorded in the said area,” he added.
Residents of the area are not allowed to step out of their households except those who need to attend work or emergencies.
“We assure that all affected households will receive relief packs during the entire duration,” said Malapitan.
