Yassi Pressman, one of ABS-CBN’s popular leading ladies, has never backed out on baring her sentiments about her network’s shutdown as the saga of House hearings on the latter’s franchise renewal drags on.
In her latest emotional post, Yassi revealed her deepest wish to return home to her network and start working again. She also shared that amid the risks of COVID-19, the Ang Probinsyano team is giving their best effort to deliver the new episodes they promised their audience.
Panginoon, kayo na po ang bahala sa amin (We are currently going through a hard time but we will continue to work hard to be able to provide entertainment to our Kapamilya no matter the risk. We miss our families but we will continue to strive for them. We’re so excited to go back to our home, ABS-CBN, and for this fight with #COVID19 to be over. Lord, we put our trust in you).”
“Sa ngayon, sana po, abangan po ninyo itong bagong yugto ng #FPJsAngProbinsyano na talaga namang pinaghandaan po namin para sainyo. Richard, Lito, maraming salamat sayo.
Welcome sa aming pamilya (For now, expect a new chapter on #FPJsAngProbinsyano which we prepared vigorously for our Kapamilya. Thank you Richard, Lito. Welcome to our family.) @DreamscapePh #ForeverKapamilya,” she continued.
It’s not the first time the actress has passionately reacted to the shutdown of the network. In a separate post, she captioned, “Sa tahanang nagpatupad ng mga pangarap at tumulong sa napakaraming tao, maraming salamat po. Patuloy ang pagpatak ng luha ko sa balitang narinig ko (To the home that fulfills dreams and helps a lot of people, thank you so much. Tears continue to stream down my face because of this news). #Kapamilya #InTheServiceOfTheFilipino.”
Yassi even defended her Ang Probinsyano co-star Coco Martin when he received public backlash for his furious opposition regarding their home network’s shutdown. She explained, “…nadadala po siya sa kanyang emosyon, at yun po ay dahil mahal na mahal niya po ang mga ‘kapamilya’ niya (his emotions got the best of him and it’s because he loves his ‘kapamilya’ very much).”
On 5 May, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) ordered the Kapamilya network’s free television and radio services to shutdown despite the former’s statement that it will allow ABS-CBN stay on air while awaiting the lawmakers’ go signal for a franchise. NTC recently presented a cease and desist order on the network’s digital transmission.
