Specific streets in Barangay 8, Caloocan City had been placed under a week-long lockdown, the city Public Information Office (PIO) said Wednesday night.
Starting midnight Thursday, 4 June, Tupada and Salmon Streets is placed under extreme enhanced community quarantine (EECQ) until mid-night on 11 June this year.
According to the Caloocan PIO, the high number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the area precipitated the lockdown decision.
During the period, Caloocan residents of the above-mentioned streets are not allowed to stray outside their homes.
“The city government will provide food packs,” said the Caloocan PIO.
More than 20 police officers will also be deployed to ensure safety and order during the EECQ.
As of 3 June, Barangay 8 has 23 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
