An artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm developed by a Singaporean school predicted that the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemic in the Philippines will end by 7 July 2020.

The Singapore University of Technology and Design’s AI’s prediction took into account variables such as cases, total deaths, new confirmed cases, new deaths, and population data.

“By using an A.I. algorithm, SUTD is able to project the infection curve and generate dates on when it believes the virus pandemic will end for a particular country. It breaks down its projection based on a 97, 99, and 100 percent chance,” reports Mashable SE Asia.

For the Philippine prediction based on 27 April 2020 data, the number of Covid-19 infections will be reduced by 97 percent by 12 May 2020, 99 percent by 23 May 2020 and 100 percent by 7 July 2020.

For other Southeast Asian countries, the AI’s predictions are 10 June 2020 for Singapore, 30 June 2020 for Indonesia, 8 July for Malaysia and 14 June for Vietnam.
