Iceland’s government thanks Pinoy nurses in Tagalog

An Icelandic-American vlogger has posted a video purportedly showing a state-run broadcast where a hospital official thanked Filipino nurses and workers for their contribution in the fight against COVID-19.
“Beautiful moment at the end of a health briefing on national state run broadcast. CEO of hospital of Iceland speaks in Tagalog, thanking Filipino nurses and workers,” said FinnSnow in his vlog posted in YouTube.
In his post, he showed a brief video where a man spoke in Tagalog to thank the Filipino workers, proceeding shortly to a more lengthy discussion over his the Internet connectivity problems he was experiencing during the lockdown.
Several Pinoy netizens thanked him for the information about the gesture of gratitude by the Icelandic government to the Filipino workers.
“Proud to be Filipino here. Salute to all front liners all over the world. Filipinos are known to be hard workers and thanks to your country Finn for giving credit to my fellow countrymen. Thank you,” said one netizen.
“That is really heart-warming from your Leader and your Country Fin,” another said, noting that Asians and Filipinos as experiencing racial discrimination in other countries even if many of them are manning the front lines in the fight against COVID-19.
