With the extension of the Luzon community quarantine period, regular commercial operations will remain suspended up to at least 30 April, flag carrier Philippine Airlines said in a statement.
The plan is for PAL operations to partially resume after the quarantine is lifted.
“We will announce details on start date and which flights will resume in due course,” PAL spokesman Cielo Villaluna said.
The continuing challenges brought by the disease to the airline industry have prompted PAL earlier to suspend temporarily its international flights starting 26 March.
“On 18 March, when the government lifted the suspension on international flights, we announced that international operations would continue but with limited flights due to travel restrictions of specific countries and expected reductions in passenger demand,” Villaluna said.
Villaluna said even then, PAL observed a substantial number of no-show passengers for outbound and inbound flights.
