The Medical City on Thursday refuted reports that state forces confiscated their personal protective equipment (PPE) amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak.
The Pasig City private hospital, in an advisory, said no such incident transpired and encouraged the public not to spread unverified information.
“There are news circulating that a raid of PPEs occurred in our premises on the evening of April 1,” it said.
“We deny this and encourage everyone to be careful in spreading unverified information.”
On Wednesday night, social media posts circulated, claiming government agents seized stocks of PPEs in Medical City to be re-packaged and donated to hospitals as coming from a senator.
Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go whose name was mentioned belied the statements, saying that they were “utterly false, deliberate disinformation, and black propaganda.”
