It was April Fool’s Day but Marian Rivera-Dantes meant serious business when she donned an apron to prepare her favorite viand for frontliners battling the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
In a 50-seconder video uploaded by husband and “Descendants of the Sun” Philippine adaptation star Dingdong Dantes, the actress cooked her Lola Ingkang’s recipe of menudo, a pork stew, tomato-based viand.
With mask on, Marian was hands-on during the entire process, from mixing the meat, spices, tomato sauce and cheese, cutting the carrots to cubes, until the actual cooking. She then prepared the individual packs with rice.
The actor also helped with packing the food for 200 frontliners.
Marian posted the longer version of the clip on her Instagram account, @marianLrivera.
“Kitchen duties for our dear frontliners at the Quezon City General Hospital today who are sacrificing so much for us. Tonight’s meal for them is our family’s specialty— Menudo— a recipe that’s been passed on by my nanay,” she wrote.
The longer clip ended up with Marian signing each packed meal with a dedication letter to express her appreciation.
