The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE) on Wednesday announced three trading participants (TP) that sought voluntary suspension in line with the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in place over Luzon.
In Memorandum Circular 2020-0030 addressed to all TP and the investing public, the stock exchange operator said Alakor Securities Corp., Century Securities Corp. and Marian Securities Inc. will not be operating during the ECQ period.
The PSE noted the TP applied to be considered as under voluntary suspension of trading operations for the duration of the quarantine, which runs from 17 March to 12 April 2020.
“Affected clients are hereby advised to get in touch with their respective TP through the contact numbers provided for any questions regarding their accounts and the procedure for placing buy/sell orders,” the circular signed by PSE president and chief executive officer Ramon Monzon said.
On 26 March, the PSE released simplified procedures for TP who decide to voluntarily suspend operations during the ECQ imposed by the government to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus disease 2019.
The PSE said the advisory was published to inform the investing public of the non-operation of the TP, and without prejudice to TP full compliance of the simplified procedure for voluntary suspension as well as regulatory requirements of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
