Everyone’s help to prevent the spread COVID-19 is welcome, Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go said on Thursday. This was his comment on the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission’s (PACC) statement asking the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to probe Vice President Leni Robredo over alleged illegal solicitations to fight COVID-19 spread.
The lawmaker urged the public to help and be part of the solution instead of dragging each other down.
On Thursday, PACC Commissioner Manuelito Luna said Robredo should be probed over her “illegal solicitations” that “undermine” the administration’s efforts.
Luna claimed that Robredo might be committing violations of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council Law, protocols of the Inter-Agency Task Force of Emerging Infectious Disease, among others. His statement, however, was disowned by PACC Commissioner Greco Belgica.
“PACC is not asking anyone to investigate VP Leni Robredo. On the other hand, we are thankful to everyone who are helping the frontliners and the needy including the VP,” Belgica said in a statement.
