The mayor of Baras town in Rizal province, Mayor Kathrine Robles on Tuesday night revealed that she got infected with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), saying that she acquired the disease while doing her job as a local chief executive.

The mayor went to other towns just to coordinate with them about the programs of the local government which may be the reason she got infected, but Robles noted that she is now in ‘stable condition’ and receiving proper care and treatment.

She also urged individuals who came in close contact with her since 18 March to undergo self-quarantine, adding that the local government will continue to provide social services to address the needs of her constituents.
