Contactless food delivery

We value the safety of everyone in our community, and have introduced new measures to ensure that you feel secure while using our service. Our riders are instructed to wash their hands every two hours and after each time they handle a delivery.

In this difficult time when everyone must avoid direct contact with other people as part of the requirements for the one-month lockdown due to the serious health threat that the coronavirus disease (covid-19) poses, it is good to know that you do not have to go out to buy food. You can still have it delivered through online apps like Foodpanda, an on-demand international food delivery service that delivers food from different establishments straight to your doorstep. This means that you lessen the need to go out and thus the chances for transmission of the dreaded virus to you, and you would not be putting the delivery person in danger, either, because Foodpanda has launched contactless food delivery service last 19 March. It will be in effect for the entire duration of the enhanced community quarantine.

After careful thought and discussion over the matter, Foodpanda management has come up with easy-to-follow steps to make contactless food delivery possible and hassle-free. What customers need to do:
• Place an order and opt for online payment.

• Go to the rider chat function on the Foodpanda app and inform the rider that you are opting for contactless delivery.

• The rider will place the food at the designated drop-off spot at your home or office.

• When he arrives, the rider will notify you, via the rider chat function on the Foodpanda app, that your food has arrived. Or he will call.

• Should the rider and you, the customer, meet, maintain a one-meter distance between you.

• When you receive your food, you need to verify the delivery.

• Delivery completed!

“We value the safety of everyone in our community, and have introduced new measures to ensure that you feel secure while using our service. Our riders are instructed to wash their hands every two hours and after each time they handle a delivery. They also know that they have to follow the rider safety guidelines and proper handling of delivery,” explains Camille Hadjeri, managing director of Foodpanda Philippines.

While continuing its food delivery service, Foodpanda remains in constant communication with its restaurant partners and together they discuss World Health Organization (WHO) statements as well as health and safety practices that they can adopt beyond that brand’s already high food hygiene standards.

This contactless food delivery service option comes at the heels of Foodpanda’s recent introduction of the latest crops of five good ol’ favorite restaurants to order from — Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Goldilocks, Dairy Queen, Taco Bell and Tim Hortons.

Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (CBTL) is home to good coffee, whether hot or ice cold. It also has a whole range of food items to savor, including pasta, breads, salads, cookies and cakes. Their artisanal handcrafted beverages from ice blended drinks to hot loose teas are likewise a must-try.

Goldilocks offers cakes, chocolates and cookies. Through the years, it has developed a savory menu of Filipino comfort food items that diners have come to love. Consider this sample menu: Pork or chicken barbecue, kaldereta, dinuguan, relleno, pansit Malabon, fresh lumpia. Backed by 44 years of experience, it continues to come up with new offerings that customers are sure to enjoy, including reasonably priced combo meals.

Dairy Queen’s iced and frozen treats — Blizzard Flavored Treats, Shakes, Banana Split, and Ice Cream Cakes
— are the order of the day. Smooth yet thick and can stand quick travel time, they comfort the body and the soul.

Taco Bell is your pit-stop for Mexican-inspired dishes, such as tacos, quesadillas and nachos. Easy to eat and satisfying to the taste buds, the food keeps your energy up all day without fail.

The Toronto-based chain Tim Hortons rose to fame with its donuts and Timbits. But their drinks, ranging from coffee to milk tea to frozen and blended drinks, are also seriously good. They go perfectly with the brand’s delightfully delicious wraps and sandwiches.

To order for food through Foodpanda, log in to Foodpanda’s website with your email or via the new iOS and Android apps, order, then pay online through the food delivery service company’s secure platform. In less than an hour’s time, your food will be at your doorstep.
