An employee of Philippine National Bank (PNB) has tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the bank announced in an advisory on Tuesday.
The employee works at PNB Financial Center in Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City and has been under voluntary quarantine since 11 March 2020 but is currently not showing any symptoms, according to PNB.
The bank assured its customers that the head office, branches and offices are being constantly sanitized in response to the incident. Employees who have primary contact to the patient have also been asked to undergo self-quarantine.
“Our Business Continuity Plan is ready for events such as this. Our preparations for this pandemic take into consideration the needs of our employees, customers and various stakeholder,” the statement read.
PNB further reported it has not received other cases of COVID-19 infection from the said exposure and reiterated the importance of social distancing and proper hygiene amid the pandemic.
