PNP Chief Police General Francisco Gamboa has ordered police manning checkpoints in Quezon City to strictly adhere to the guidelines, particularly in the unhampered passage of vehicles delivering food and other essential services in the wake of the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.

Gamboa emphasized that cargo trucks and other similar vehicles should be allowed to pass quarantine checkpoints subject to existing guidelines by the Inter-Agency Task Force.

“They should know those who are exempted like health workers and frontliners,” he said.

Gamboa likewise ordered the Anti-cybercrime Group (ACG), of which an anti-cybercrime team is based inside Camp Karingal to run after those responsible in spreading fake news in the social media and arrest and bring them to justice.

He reminded the public to respect and obey the authorities manning the checkpoints and even those roaming the inner roads and alleys in the barangays to ensure that home quarantine is strictly observed.

“Let us not argue or disrespect our policemen and other authorities implementing the quarantine. Let us obey them because they can arrest you if you violate quarantine rules. We ask for you full cooperation in this fight against COVID-19,” he said.
