Despite the enhanced community quarantine in effect over the whole of Luzon, there are still violators of the self-isolation being required of citizens.

Authorities from the Quezon City Police District accosted nine minors during an operation last Saturday night at Barangay Pasong Putik Proper in Novaliches.

A concerned citizen reported to the Emergency Operation Center of the Department of the Interior and Local Government that residents in the barangay were ignoring the quarantine by holding streetside drinking sprees and a volleyball game.

The message said, “They are not following the enhanced community quarantine. It is already past 10 p.m. and they are still outside their homes.”

Fairview Police Station commander Lt. Col. Jeffrey Bilaro dispatched his men at around 11 p.m. on 21 March.

Those arrested ranged from 16 to 17 years old.

They face charges for violation of Republic Act 11332, or the mandatory reporting of notifiable disease and health events, which prohibits non-cooperation, which comes with a fine of not less that P20,000 and not more than P50,000 and imprisonment of less than a month but not more than six months
