BALANGA CITY, Bataan – A second case of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was recorded in this province on Saturday night.

According to Governor Abet Garcia, the patient identified as PH303, a 24-year-old male, is currently being treated in one of the local hospitals.

The governor is imploring his constituents to unite and cooperate by following the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) rules to stop the spread of the virus.

“The Provincial Health Office (PHO) is continuing to gather information and is conducting contact-tracing on the second patient with COVID-19,” said Garcia.

The PHO learned that PH303 had contact with COVID-19 patient PH64, a 32-year-old male, in a dormitory in Manila. The patient only returned to Bataan after experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.

The PHO stated that PH64 is getting better and might totally recover from the disease.

Bataan currently has recorded 4,475 patients under monitoring (PUM), 231 patients under investigation (PUI), and two COVID-19 cases.

Garcia has called for the vigilance and cleanliness of his constituents to stop the spread of the virus.
