The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) under Police Brigadier General Ronnie S. Montejo said, the local police are ready to implement security measures in two Quezon City barangays under extreme enhanced community quarantine.

He made the pronouncement during the news conference called by Quezon City government on Wednesday where she confirmed 29 positive coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 cases, a single death and three recovering from the disease.

Montejo said, Barangay Kalusugan in District IV and under the jurisdiction of the Galas Police Station (PS-11) and Barangay Tandang Sora in District VI under the Talipapa Police Station (PS-3) are now under heightened community quarantine because of confirmed and certain number of COVID 19 cases.

They now have areas called “hot and warm zones.”

The “hot zone” and “warm zone” in the two barangays will be put under strict monitoring and surveillance to prevent persons who have no business in these areas to move in and out.

“We will be coordinating with their security personnel to help us implement security measures for the lockdown in the area,” Montejo said.

He added the police will establish checkpoints, particularly in E. Rodriguez near St. Luke’s Medical Center and another at the BIR Road to Elliptical Road and East Avenue to restrict movements and further prevent spread of the disease.

Montejo again appealed for everyone to cooperate and observe the policies being enforced and for residents to stay at home to prevent the spread of the dreaded COVID-19.
