A Chinese national now sees himself being charged with various traffic violations after he tried to evade a checkpoint in Quezon City yesterday morning.

The suspect, Jian Pang, 33, was flagged down by elements of the Batasan Police Station, under Lt. Col. Romulus Gadaoni, who were manning a checkpoint along the boundary of Quezon City and San Mateo, Rizal at 2:15 a.m.

Instead of stopping for inspection, the suspect, who resides in New Manila, Quezon City, drove to the other side of the street, prompting the cops to chase him.

When apprehended, it was found Pang did not possess a Philippine driver’s license.

He now faces charges for violation of Republic Act 4136 or driving without a license, unauthorized counterflow, resistance and disobedience to a person in authority or its agent, RA 11332, or the Law in Reporting Communicable Disease that is presently being observed with the quarantine.

He has been turned over to the Criminal Investigation and Detention Unit under PMaj. Elmer Monsalve for proper investigation.
