Police have launched a manhunt for two sisters under investigation for possible COVID-19 infection after they escaped a quarantine area in Saranggani.

In a memo circular issued Thursday, the Police Regional Office 11 (PRO-11) identified the sisters as Rodelyn and Rochelle Simbajon delos Reyes.

The two are reportedly headed to the Davao International Airport to fly to Manila between 9 p.m. Thursday and noon of Friday, according to the memo issued by the officer-in-charge of the PRO-11’s Regional Operations Management Division in Davao City.

The PRO-11 has alerted concerned police units to conduct checkpoints and inspection of their respective areas and boundaries, including hotels, to intercept and hold the sisters in coordination with the Department of Health to prevent the spread of the virus.
