MORE than one million products being sold in the online store Amazon.com have been removed in the last few weeks for being fraudulent and overpriced.

The products have been removed for violating Amazon’s rule against false claims and price gouging following netizens’ complaints of overpriced protective gears for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and sanitizers.

An example was a merchant’s post offering a 10-pack N95 masks at $128 when another seller’s price was only $41.24.

Also, a two-pack respirator that a merchant offered for $24.99 earlier this week was removed as a recent average price for the product in the website was $6.65.
