The daughter of former actress and current mayor of Pola, Oriental Mindoro Jennifer “Ina Alegre” Cruz and original “Gwapulis” Gilberto DC Cruz is this year’s youth pageant grand winner during the coronation held at Tanghalang Pasigueño, amid Taal’s volcanic activities and ash fall.
Reigning Mr. and Ms. Philippine Youth International 2019 Angelo Basa and Rikki Mae de la Peña crowned Patricia Cruz and Kyle Patrick de Guzman as their new successors.
Cruz and De Guzman’s court includes Drake Aclan, Gian Garcia, James Lorenzo Damaso and Joseph Leo as Mr. Philippine Youth Princes and Eve Janine Valdez, Rin Rin Raz, Ashley Antonio and Marielle Lim as Ms. Philippine Youth Princesses.
“Thank you so much to everyone who supported me in this journey. I feel so blessed, I never expected to win such a prestigious title,” Cruz delightedly said after she was crowned.
Currently on her 11th grade at San Beda College, the 16-year-old former Princess Universe 2015 wants to become a policewoman just like her father a CARAGA Region police brigadier general.
As Ms. Philippine Youth 2020, I will make sure to fulfill my duties for the Philippine Youth, to take every opportunity and to make efforts to push forward the advocacies that I have,” Cruz expressed.
After her homecoming in Pola, Cruz and De Guzman were involved in relief operations for Taal evacuees from Tanauan and San Nicolas, along with Alegre, Binibining Pilipinas 1987 candidate Jovita Laureola and Binibining Pilipinas 2018 and 2020 candidate Patrizia Garcia, Laureola’s daughter.
