Necole Ebuen flashed her deadly form to power Arellano University to an easy victory over Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC), 25-15, 25-14, 25-20 in Season 95 National Collegiate Athletic Association women’s volleyball tournament Thursday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
Ebuen, the league’s reigning Most Valuable Player, led the charge for the Lady Chiefs, who are in hot pursuit for a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four.
She fired 11 points while Carlo Donato chipped in 12 markers for Arellano, which survived the endgame rally of the Lady Generals.
“I though EAC would get that third set,” Arellano coach Obet Javier said, adding that the win would be a huge morale-booster as they head to their blockbuster battle with undefeated College of Saint Benilde on Monday.
“Fortunately for us, Necole played well down the stretch. We needed someone to step up and she delivered.”
Almazan fired 14 points on top of 10 digs and seven receptions for the Lady Generals, who closed their campaign on a sour note.
