Taytay unveils new branding

Neil Alcober

The local government of Taytay, Rizal has unveiled a new logo, as part of its rebranding, which is “Best Taytay.”

Mayor Joric Gacula said the primary objective of the rebranding is to promote local tourism, as well as to revive the town’s woodwork and garment industry.

The old logo, which was created four years ago, is now being replaced by a new one to highlight big changes in the municipality.

“Many are looking forward to the world-class Taytay Sports Complex and Rizal Provincial Hospital System Annex. That’s why we are hoping that Taytay will soon become the ‘business district of the east,’ even if we are not yet a city although all features of a city are already here,” Gacula said.

This project is supported by the Municipal Council headed by Vice Mayor Michell Bermudo, together with Councilor Elaine Leonardo, chairman of the Committee on Tourism, and is being spearheaded by Tourism Office chief Rhoderic Santos.

“The whole council made a resolution to name Taytay as the ‘Garments Capital of the Philippines.’ We will not get exhausted in crafting policy to better promote tourism, and the business sector in Taytay is our partner in this endeavor,” Bermudo said.
