Fifty-six confiscated video karera machines were destroyed at the headquarters of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) in Camp Karingal, Sikatuna Village, Quezon City on Friday.
Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, PGen. Archie Francisco F. Gamboa led the smashing of the machines using a mallet as part of the QCPD’s campaign against illegal gambling.
The machines were seized by members of 12 city police stations and other QCPD units, said QCPD Director PBGen Ronnie S, Montejo.
Several gambling paraphernalia and bet money amounting to P15,363 were also confiscated from 91 people, Montejo added.
“Nagpapasalamat po tayo sa ating mga kababayan sa patuloy nilang suporta sa ating kampanya laban sa mga iligal na gawain tulad ng sugal at droga. Hinihikayat po natin ang publiko na magsumbong sa kapulisan sa sino mang gumagawa ng iligal,” said Montejo.
Montejo commended his officers and men for their relentless efforts against illegal gambling operations which also saw significant arrests and confiscation of paraphernalia.
He called on the public to stop engaging in any forms of illegal gambling to make positive impacts especially in the peace and order situation.
