A Thai woman was busted by the police in a joint anti-drug operation by the police and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Pasay City on Thursday afternoon.

Capt. Crisanto Racoma and Capt. Deni Mari Pedroso and PDEA agents led by IA3 Christopher Basilio conducted the anti-drug operation resulting to the arrest of Narumon Sukkato, 30, at about 12:15 p.m. on 23 January inside a fast-food restaurant along Sunset Avenue corner Pacific Drive, Mall of Asia Complex.

Operatives were able to confiscate a self-sealing plastic sachet containing suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 200 grams and estimated to cost P1.2 million.

The seized item was turned over to the Southern Police District (SPD) Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis, while the suspect was detained at Station Custodial Facility for proper disposition. She will be charged for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Brig. Gen. Nolasco Bathan, SPD director, lauded the operatives for the successful drug operation, emphasizing that SPD will be more aggressive in the war against drugs.

“As what our chief PNP said, we will focus more on intensified intelligence-driven anti-illegal drug operations, and SPD will deliver its positive output strictly following the rule of law in every operation” Bathan said.
