Three-time champion Arellano University and College of Saint Benilde aim to keep their unbeaten slate intact when they tackle separate foes in Season 95 National Collegiate Athletic Association women’s volleyball tournament today at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The Lady Chiefs are tipped to come out strong in their 12 noon encounter with Jose Rizal University as they are fresh from a one-week break while the Lady Blazers are expected to dominate Emilio Aguinaldo College in their 2 p.m. encounter.
The Lady Blazers remain on top of the team standings after posting three straight wins while the Lady Chiefs and San Beda University are not far behind with an identical 2-0 cards.
But all eyes will be on Arellano.
The Lady Chiefs are fresh from a morale-boosting 25-13, 25-20, 25-12 win over Mapua University and head coach Obet Javier is eager to come up with a strong start and an even stronger finish.
“We have to go on with our next games with the same strategy which is to start every game strong,” said Javier, who drew 19 points from reigning Most Valuable Player Regine Arocha in their previous win over the Lady Cardinals.
