Two brand new units of Security Screening Equipment (SSE) were received by the Philippine Air Force from the Department of Transportation (DoTr) as part of the command’s modernization program.
According to the PAF’s Tactical Operations Wing (TOW) Eastern Mindanao, the simple turn-over rites were held last 18 January at at the Francisco Bangoy International Airport in Davao City.
DoTR Undersecretary Raul del Rosario led the ceremony where he turned over the screening machines to Maj. Gen. Glicerio Peralta, PAF Chief of Air Staff.
BGen. Arthur Cordura, 520th Air Base Wing commander; BGen. Pablo Rustia, 250th Presidential Airlift Wing commander; BW, BGEN ARTHUR M CORDURA AFP; Wing Commander, 250th Presidential Airlift Wing, BGEN PABLO E RUSTRIA AFP; and TOW EastMin commander, Col. Dennis Estrella were also present.
The P126-million worth of equipment will be stationed at the 520th ABW and TOW EastMin at the Villamor Air Base inPasay City and Davao Air Station, Davao City
Said SSE are vital in the modernization program of the PAF as it will enhance and expedite the processing of military and civilian passengers.
The continuing partnership and close collaboration between the PAF and OTS-DoTr aim to further strengthen the safety and security of passengers, assets, aircraft and facilities.
