Evan Nelle formally announced that he is moving to De La Salle University following a fruitful season with San Beda University in Season 95 of the National Collegiate Athletic Association men’s basketball tournament.
The 21-year-old playmaker said the decision was never been easy, but he had to do it to get out of comfort zone and test his skills against players in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines.
Nelle is the second high-profile collegiate player to jump ship.
Last week, Dave Ildefonso also announced that he would transfer from National University to Ateneo de Manila University following the exit of Jamike Jarin and his father, Danny, as Bulldogs’ coaches.
“First and foremost, I would like to thank the whole San Beda community for accepting the kid who couldn’t even do a push-up or a sit-up,” said Nelle, confirming Daily Tribune’s previous report that he is headed to La Salle.
“I would like to say sorry for not getting the four-peat. It was the ultimate goal last year, but we fell short and I’m truly sorry for it.”
