About 30,000 job vacancies in the medical sector are available in Germany until next year, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III announced on Thursday.
According to the labor chief, Germany needs a huge number of nurses, hospital workers and medical workers where Filipinos are priorities.
“We are preferred. The Philippines is the number one preference,” Bello said.
Without specific slot limitations, Bello said Germany could hire “as many as they can” as long as the Overseas Filipino Workers are qualified.
Aside from Germany, job opportunities in China, Canada and Russia can also be expected next year.
Bello said he has already established communication with his counterpart in Yukon, Canada that are willing to discuss a bilateral agreement for possible job opportunities for Filipino workers.
For China, they will be needing more teachers with English proficiency, he added.
