Christmas decor at the Diamond Hotel.

The holiday season is in full swing! One of the surest signs. The ceremonial lighting of Christmas trees around the metro has given the urban landscape some much-needed glitter and gloss. Here’s a roundup of a few (more to follow in the coming days):

‘Modern Chinoiserie’ at Century Park

Century Park Hotel (CPH), one of Manila’s finest hotels in Manila, recently held their Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the hotel’s Atrium Lounge.

CPH owners Dr. Lucio Tan and wife Carmen Tan led the lighting ceremony of the 30-foot Christmas tree to the delight of hotel employees, guests and media friends.

This year, the hotel is showcasing Modern Chinoiserie, a fusion of Eastern and Western elegance that perfectly balances symmetry and style, combining modern and traditional artistry. Pink and blue ornaments infused with gold trimmings were accentuated with Chinese designs, lending a unique Christmas vibe to the hotel. It is also a fitting homage to the hotel’s Chinese roots.

Carolers from the Children’s Joy Foundation Inc. sang Christmas carols to the guests, making the event more festive.

The event was made more memorable with the presence of newly-crowned queens, Miss Earth 2019 Nellys Pimentel from Puerto Rico, Miss Earth Fire 2019 Alisa Manyonok from Belarus and Miss Earth Water 2019 Klára Vavrušková from Czech Republic.

As the event marks the countdown to Noche Buena, Deli Snack also launched its elegant selection of Christmas Hampers starting from P2,780 net which includes delectable delis, sublime breads, jams and satisfying wines.

Avoid the Holiday rush, place your Christmas orders at (632) 8528-5855 to 56 or email foodbev@centurypark.com.ph two days or 48 hours prior to your preferred pick-up date at the hotel.

Greeting card come to life at the Pen

Festive spirit swept The Peninsula Manila and the children from Make-A-Wish Foundation Philippines when the hotel’s 45-foot Christmas Tree lit the night up and musicians from the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra began striking up their instruments to play holiday music, heralding the start of Christmas.

For over four decades, the Christmas Tree at The Peninsula Manila lobby and the holiday decorations adorning and surrounding The Lobby have stood as a holiday beacon for Manila and visitors alike.

From children marveling at the gigantic tree festooned with thousands of lights, Santa welcoming guests in his red velvet suit, Christmas wreaths and velvet bows hanging from the bannisters, the smell of cookies wafting in the air, and families enjoying festive Afternoon Tea, The Peninsula Manila becomes a holiday greeting card come to life.

The Lobby’s Christmas Tree will remain lit and on display from 8 November until 26 December.

White whimsy at Diamond Hotel

Diamond Hotel Philippines welcomed the yuletide season by lighting up their 25-foot Christmas Tree at the Lobby on 5 November. It is a white whimsical Christmas as the hotel was decked in white and gold finery, adorned with crystals and pearlized ornaments.

To celebrate the annual tree lighting event, special performances were showcased by Bayanihan, The National Folk Dance Company of the Philippines and Pansol Choir. Santa Claus also joined the merriment to spread the holiday cheer.

The hotel continues its tradition of giving help to its chosen beneficiary, Kanlungan ni Maria, a non-stock, non-profit organization that provides adequate and sufficient home care, basic and medical needs for the abandoned, sick, poor and homeless elderly. Guests are encouraged to be participate by donating P300. In return, they are entitled to hang an ornament with their name at the Charity Tree located at the lobby.
