Malasakit farm village rises

PALAYAN CITY, Nueva Ecija — The provincial government will construct a P132.7-milllion Malasakit Farm Village in Barangay Aulo in this city to help farmers boost their productivity through different agricultural livelihood projects.

During a meeting of Provincial Board at the Sierra Madre Suites, Governor Aurelio Umali explained that they will be equipping farmers in different aspects of farming in line with the projects of the provincial government.

Umali said the Malasakit Farm Village will include an Aulo Integrated Farm Eco-Adventure Tourism, and a training, livelihood and housing complex as part of the 2019 Supplemental and 2020 Annual Investment Program (AIP) that was approved by the Provincial Development Council.

The governor stated that the Malasakit Farm Village would provide livelihood projects needed by the Novo Ecijanos like a micro-layering demo farm, goat and cattle multiplier farm and a resort and tourist area.

He added while the area in Aulo is still being constructed, the provincial government can start the micro-layering program in the vacant lot of the Provincial Jail in Cabanatuan City which includes a module that will teach the beneficiaries in chicken raising and egg production.

The AIP also includes the P1.2-billion fund for the palay price support program, P100 million for the construction of a rice mill, P80 million for the construction of an onion cold storage facility and P40 million for the construction of a palay and rice warehouse.
