The Philippine National Police (PNP) said that 119 prisoners released through the Good Conduct Time Allowance (GCTA) have already surrendered as of 9 a.m. Monday, 9 September.
In a press briefing at the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City, PNP spokesman Senior Sup. Bernard Banac said of the 119 who turned themselves in, 32 surrendered to various police stations under PRO2 or Police Region Office 2 based in Tuguegarao, Cagayan; 24 in PRO4B (MIMAROPA) in Oriental Mindoro; 13 in PRO5 in Legazpi, Albay; 10 in PRO7 in Cebu; seven in PRO Cordillera in La Trinidad, Benguet; five each in PRO-1 in Ilocos Region, in PRO-4A (CALABARZON) in Calamba, Laguna; and PRO10 in Cagayan de Oro City; four each in National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), PRO3 Central Luzon base in San Fernando City, Pampanga and in PRO13 in Butuan City, Agusan del Sur; two each in PRO6 Western Visayas in Iloilo City and PRO8 in Eastern Visayas in Palo, Leyte; and one each in PRO9 in Zamboanga Peninsula base in Zamboanga City and PRO 12 in General Santos City.
Banac said 25 of the 119 who surrendered have been turned-over by the PNP to the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) while the rest are under police custody.
Of those who surrendered, 43 were charged for rape, 38 committed murder, 12 for robbery with homicide, five for robbery with rape, four each for homicide and rape with homicide, three for dangerous drugs, two each for murder and frustrated murder and parricide, and one each for murder and robbery, attempted rape and with homicide, carnapping, robbery, rape and arson and kidnapping, four robbery with homicide, three each for dangerous drugs and robbery with rape, two for homicide, and one each for murder and robbery, attempted rape with homicide, murder, homicide, double frustrated murder and grave threats, parricide, carnapping, robbery, rape with homicide and rape and arson and kidnapping with murder.
