The University of Santo Tomas inked a Memorandum of Understanding at the Rector’s Hall for the exchange of medical students for clinical rotation between the UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine (KPUM).

UST Rector Very Rev. Fr. Herminio Dagohoy represented the university in the signing, while Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine president Prof. Takenaka Hiroshi represented their university.

Neurology Department and International Academic Exchange Center head Prof. Mizuno Toshiki stood as a witness for KPUM, while UST Office for International Relations and Programs (UST OIRP) director Prof. Lilian Sison served as a witness for the university.

Also present during the signing ceremony were: International Academic Exchange Center administrative staff Tsuchiya Chihiro, executive secretary to the Rector Prof. Augusto Antonio Aguila, UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery (FMS) Dean Dr. Ma. Lourdes Maglinao, UST OIRP associate director Prof. Karen Santiago, UST FMS director of Clinical Programs Dr. Piedad Rosales Natividad and UST FMS secretary Dr. Dexter Clifton Pe. UST Office of Public Affairs Director Assoc. Prof. Giovanna Fontanilla served as Master of Ceremonies.

Following the signing, the members of the delegation from Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine visited the UST Hospital, Hotel 1611 and Domus Mariae International Hostel. Prior to the visit to the UST Hospital, a luncheon meeting at the UST FMS conference room was held, where they discussed a possible collaboration on the World Health Organization project on “Health Care Promotion in the Aging Population.”
