The Republics of Singapore and the Philippines recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of their bilateral relations. As part of it, the two countries will work together to hold an event that will showcase the talents of artists from both countries.
Art Trek, through the years, has been the embodiment of the mission and vision of both countries
“I am excited to hold Art Trek 13 as we continue to innovate the traditional format of featuring only painters. We added sculptors and toy artists during last year’s roster. Now, we have a photo artist and a cultural outreach to serve as a testament to the rich artistry of Filipinos,” said Joseph Deal Mar Yap, Philippine ambassador to Singapore.
Star Trek 13, unlike its past edition, will innovate that way it does things.
It will now feature photo artists unlike its roster in the previous years that included painters, sculptors and toy artists.
Yavuz Gallery will open up the Art Trek 13 with a back-to-back exhibition on 24 August 2019. It will showcase “Seabound” that will feature Filipino artists who call themselves as ‘The Working Animals Art Projects’ and a solo exhibition entitled “Dahlia” featuring Keb Cerda.
Miaja Design will then present a joint exhibition entitled “Archipelago” from Larry Calderon, Alain Hablo, Gus Albor and Ross Capili on 4 September.
The event runs from 24 August to 30 September.
Art Trek, through the years, has been the embodiment of the mission and vision of both countries.
Since it started, Art Trek has been the avenue for the embassy to promote its cultural diplomacy program.
