After powering Ateneo de Manila to its first University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) women’s volleyball title, Anusorn Bundit of Thailand will be joining Adamson University in its campaign in the UAAP Season 82.

So far, the agreed deal is that he will train Adamson for two months

Multiple sources said Bundit has been tapped to run the training of the Lady Falcons, who are looking to finally barge into the Final Four of the country’s premier collegiate tournament after finishing last season with a dismal 2-12 win-loss card.

Insiders said Bundit would serve as trainer while the deal of a possible coaching stint is still being negotiated.

“It’s still being worked out. So far, the agreed deal is that he will train Adamson for two months,” said the source, adding that Bundit will report for training on 1 September.
Adamson spiker Chiara Permentilla validated the source’s claim.

“We were told that he will be our trainer while coach Lerma (Giron) will remain as head coach of the team,” Permentilla told a handful of scribes late Sunday.

Giron is currently coaching the Lady Falcons in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference while head coach Onyok Getigan, who replaced Airess Padda in the previous UAAP wars, skipped the tourney due to personal reason.

Should plans do not miscarry and Bundit end up coaching the Falcons, he will inherit a young team overflowing with potential.

The young core of Trisha Genesis, Louie Romero, Shynna Martinez, MJ Igao and Hannah Infante are all tipped to blossom under him, similar to what he did with the Lady Eagles, whom he led to two UAAP crowns.

Adamson has yet to come up with an official statement.
