U2 to perform in Manila

Irish rock band U2 is coming to Manila in December for their first ever concert in the country.

U2 will perform at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan on 11 December as part of their “The Joshua Tree Tour.”

Bono, the band’s frontman, invited Filipino through a hadwritten message posted on Twitter.

“Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry coming to rock you hard & soft… loud & vivid, black & white & colour Dec 11,” his message reads.

The band will visit other Asian countries including Singapore, South Korea and Japan.

Tickets are priced at P5,250, P17,950, P20,499 (most expensive), P19,499, P17,999, P16,999, P15,999, P14,999, P8,499, P7,499, P4,499 and P2,499.

Preselling of tickets at U2.com will start on 1 to 3. General ticket selling starts 5 September.

Among U2’s popular songs are With or Without You, Sunday Bloody Sunday and Beautiful Day.

The concert will coincide with the closing ceremony of the 30th Southeast Asian Games at New Clark City’s Athletic Stadium in Pampanga.
