The Eastern Police District (EPD) is ready to do its part in securing the upcoming fourth State of the Nation Address (SoNA) of President Duterte at the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City.

Anti-crime operations to continue, Bathan assures

The EPD will deploy more or less 2,000 police personnel for route security, area or perimeter security and crowd control. The EPD personnel will be composed of Task Group East Command, Security Task Group, Sub-Security Task Group, Reserve and Monitoring.

EPD chief Brigadier General Nolasco Bathan, as Task Group East Commander, sets the operational guidelines and procedures to be undertaken during “SoNA 2019” to ensure that the President will successfully and peacefully deliver his speech to the nation.

Likewise, lateral coordination with Metro East Coordinating Council and local government units in the community will also be done, he said.

The EPD, however, said that it will still continue its anti-criminality and anti-drugs campaign amid the security preparations for SoNA 2019.
