The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Thursday reminded motorists to take alternate routes or leave home early as heavy traffic is expected along Commonwealth going to Batasan Complex on Monday in relation to the fourth State of the Nation Address (SoNA) of President Rodrigo Duterte on 22 July.
In a statement, QCPD Director Police Brig. Gen. Joselito T Esquivel Jr. said that heavy traffic will be expected, particularly in roads leading to and from the Batasang Pambansa Complex where the President Duterte is set to deliver his SoNA, thus the need for temporary vehicle traffic rerouting.
“The public is therefore advised to take note of the suggested alternate routes which have been earlier identified. It would also be best advised to just stay home, if possible until after the activity,” Esquivel said.
He added those who will travel on Monday are advised to take alternate routes.
